Brief Description: The material in this collection dates from 1929 to the early 1960’s. The material consists of elementary- level teaching materials on the subjects of Hampton Roads and Virginia history, some of which are hand-written. This collection also includes tourism materials, civic-minded publications and information regarding Hampton Roads ports and commerce. Of particular note is the information on Norfolk’s Historic Mace. Norfolk is the only city in the United States that has had a complete silver Mace in its possession since Colonial Days.
